Community Investment Funds or CIFs are gaining popularity across Canada and internationally as tools for communities to build and support local economic and social development. In financial terms, a CIF is way for local people to direct their investments into local projects, CIFs are sometimes, but not always, accompanied by a tax credit and RRSP eligibility.

Campbell River Community Foundation Grant

Supporting the Not-For-Profits in our Community

The Campbell River Community Foundation connects the generosity of donors with the energy, ideas, and needs of our community. Our Endowment Fund has grown from $5000 to $2.2 million since 1990. We use the interest from this endowment fund to support non-profit organizations in Campbell River supporting art, culture, education, health, the environment, and youth. All of these community projects help make Campbell River a healthier, more vibrant, and livable community.

Nanaimo Vital Fund

Each year, the Nanaimo Foundation provides grants from our Nanaimo Vital Fund. Applications must be submitted to be considered for a Nanaimo Vital Fund grant.

The Nanaimo Vital Fund supports:

  • Capital projects
  • Pilot projects

Applications for ongoing program delivery and administrative expenses will not be considered.

Saanich Peninsula Community Foundation Grant

Through its grants programme, the Saanich Peninsula Community Foundation supports programmes and activities that benefit the residents of the Saanich Peninsula, in health and social services; arts and culture; education; conservation; and recreation.

Renewable Energy for Remote Communities Program

As part of CleanBC, the Province of British Columbia’s Renewable Energy for Remote Communities (RERC) Program will assist remote communities in B.C. to reduce their reliance on diesel by primarily funding the capital costs of renewable electricity projects.

Wilburforce Foundation Grant

Wilburforce Foundation supports organizations and individuals who are committed to science-driven conservation efforts and sustainable policies that will have a meaningful and enduring impact on our natural ecosystems. We use conservation science to identify priority regions that correspond with our focus on wildlands and habitat connections that allow wildlife to thrive.
