Annual conservation funding
Focuses on annual support of multi-year conservation programs such as stewardship offices, regional monitoring (Guardian Watchman), heritage and natural resources, mapping and conservancy management, and more.
Conservation Project Funding
Focuses on project-specific funding for conservation initiatives including scientific research, field studies, habitat restoration, investment in research equipment, conservation-related training programs, and more.
Economic Development Funding
Focuses on the start-up or expansion of First Nations owned-and- operated businesses and economic infrastructure that directly supports multiple businesses including entrepreneurs.

Eligible Applicants
-
A PARTICIPATING FIRST NATION (one of the 27 First Nations or 3 Regional Organizations specified in Schedule G of the Conservation Investments and Incentives Agreement – see OUR MANDATE) as represented by the authorized governing body of the Nation that is listed as a qualified donee with the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency; or
-
A stewardship office, resource management department, or non-profit society that has delegated responsibility for conservation on behalf of the PARTICIPATING FIRST NATION and is a registered charity.

A PARTICIPATING FIRST NATION (one of the 27 First Nations or 3 Regional Organizations specified in Schedule G of the Conservation Investments and Incentives Agreement – see OUR MANDATE) as represented by the authorized governing body of the Nation that is listed as a qualified donee with the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency; or
-
A stewardship office, resource management department, or non-profit society that has delegated responsibility for conservation on behalf of the PARTICIPATING FIRST NATION and is a registered charity.
Economic Development Funding
Eligible Applicants
- A PARTICIPATING FIRST NATION (one of the 27 First Nations or 3 Regional Organizations specified in Schedule G of the Conservation Investments and Incentives Agreement – see OUR MANDATE) as represented by the authorized governing body of the Nation; or
- Any other entity fully or partially owned or controlled by the Participating First Nation which has a resolution from the Participating First Nation supporting a complete funding application; or
- An individual member of a Participating First Nation or business owned by any such individual who has a resolution supporting a complete funding application.

Coast Funds offers First Nations a continuous intake for new applications with four rounds of funding every year.

There are four rounds of funding each year. Please see APPLY for all application deadline dates this year. Complete funding applications, with all supporting documents, must be received on or prior to these deadlines to be considered in that round.
