This program is designed to build capacity for climate change adaptation by funding community-designed and driven projects. This program funds First Nations and Inuit communities' efforts to build capacity to adapt to the health impacts of climate change.
There are 2 streams for the program:
- Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program North
- Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program South for First Nations South of 60°N
Eligibility
Who can apply?
- First Nations and Inuit communities and organizations located in:
- Yukon
- Northwest Territories
- Nunavut
- Nunavik
- Nunatsiavut
- Non-government and voluntary associations and organizations non-profit corporations working on behalf of, or in partnership with Inuit and First Nations communities. The community must identify them as partners in the proposed project.

In the North the program works with Climate Change Community Liaisons in all 3 territories. These contacts are available to communities and organizations to aid in the development of proposals. They can be contacted at the following addresses:

There is no deadline; you may apply any time. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis by a climate change adaptation committee based in your territory or region.
