Grants are an investment in people, ideas and community. Funded by the income earned from our endowment funds, the Squamish Community Foundation awards grants to eligible organizations focused on causes that improve the lives and wellbeing of Squamish residents.

Eligibility

What Do We Fund?

Any registered non-profit organization may apply for an Annual Grant. Grants are awarded to projects that benefit the people of the District of Squamish with a focus on the following categories: Health and Social Development, Recreation and Sports  Arts, Culture and Heritage, Children, Youth and Families, Environment, or Community Enhancement.

Projects must also comply with the following criteria in order to qualify:

  • Be a registered charity: have a BN/Registration number OR be put forward by non-profit organization with a CRA charitable registration number (BN _____ RR000-)
  • Have a definite purpose and be completed in a specific period of time
  • Include provision for an evaluation and realistic plan for financial viability beyond the pilot stage

Capital projects will be considered if there is a demonstrated need. We also encourage participation of other organizations in funding projects and may provide matching funds or challenge grants to stimulate increased responses from other sources.

We accept applications for Annual Grants each year between April 1 and May 31.
