BVCF Grant Program

Each year the BVCF offers community grants to not-for-profit organizations in our area.

Our purpose is to enhance the quality of life in our communities. Our fields of interest are education, social/family, fine arts, cultural, health, youth, community and sports/recreation. In addition, we are interested in supporting projects that provide services for seniors.

Holger Bauer Forest Safety Award

The Quesnel Foundation issues grants annually to the community.  The amount is based on a percentage of the Endowment Fund total. 

Holger Bauer Forest Safety Award - a grant in aid for forest safety, outdoor recreation, forest stewardship and conservation.

Flood Risk Assessment, Mapping & Mitigation Planning

The intent of this funding stream is to support eligible applicants to ensure they have accurate knowledge of the flood hazards they face and to develop effective strategies to mitigate and prepare for those risks.

Impact Investment Fund

If your business needs financial support but isn’t able to secure conventional financing, this fund may be able to help.

The fund supports business opportunities that are higher risk and may not offer adequate financial returns to an investor, but will benefit Basin residents and communities in some other way. For example, it may create jobs, address a community need, help the environment or support arts and culture.

Industrial, Clean and Energy Technology (ICE) Venture Fund

BDC Capital’s Industrial, Clean and Energy (ICE) Technology Venture Fund tailors its investments towards capital-efficient and scalable businesses enhancing resource productivity with the potential to operate across a global market. We invest in early and development stage Canadian companies, and use our experience in materials, electronics and ICT to build commercially successful global companies.

Homeless Prevention Program

The Homeless Prevention Program provides portable rent supplements and support services to individuals in identified at-risk groups facing homelessness. An initiative aimed at providing individuals in identified at-risk groups facing homelessness with portable rent supplements and support services to help them access rental housing in the private (non-subsidized) housing market.

Homeless Outreach Program

The Homeless Outreach Program is enhanced by the Homeless Prevention Program and by culturally appropriate services to Indigenous individuals.

Outreach workers meet their clients where they are—on the street, in a shelter, or in a temporary place.

Women in Technology Venture Fund

The BDC Capital Women in Technology (WIT) Venture Fund is one of the world’s largest venture capital funds dedicated to investing in women-led technology companies and helping to build a robust ecosystem to support women in tech today and in the future.

Women’s Transition Housing and Supports Program

BC Housing supports more than 100 transition houses and safe homes for women — with or without children — who are at risk of violence, or who have experienced violence.

The programs provide women and children with a temporary place to stay, support services, referrals and assistance in planning next steps.

Emergency Shelter Program

Emergency shelters are temporary but immediate places to stay for anyone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness.
