Pilot projects: Stormwater quality, community project
We fund pilot projects for initiatives that can potentially allow a community to remove 60% of total suspended solids (TSS) or a significant amount of other contaminants (e.g., E.coli, salt, grease) from its stormwater runoff. This funding helps Canadian cities and communities of all sizes protect local bodies of water through stormwater treatment.
Pilot projects assess solutions in real-life conditions. They evaluate either a small-scale version of a project or a full-scale, replicable version.

2. EQUITY FUNDING
Funding to support a financially viable and resourced clean energy project with an Energy Purchase Agreement.
Grants for community groups
By supplying electricity to the people and businesses of this province, we provide an essential and important service. We also believe in doing more than that.
WE HAVE TWO GRANTS TO CHOOSE FROM:
1. BROAD IMPACT GRANTS
- Grants for organizations that wish to expand an existing program's reach or to develop a new program across multiple communities in B.C.
2. GRASSROOT GRANTS
- Grants for local community-based programs.

Creston & District Community Investment Co-op Loan
The Investment Co-op aims to direct new, or pre-existing, investment capital from local residents into local businesses with high community impact. We understand that new ventures are vital to a healthy local economy, but can face difficulty in securing financing to get off the ground or grow.
The Investment Co-op can provide short-term capital (1-5 years) to ventures looking to launch or expand, and assist them in establishing a supportive customer base and a sustainable operation for their concept. The Investment Co-op will work in partnership with other local financing organizations. Unlike traditional loans that are based on business history and collateral, these investments are based on the experience and character of the owners, the strength of the business plan and the opportunity for economic, social and environmental and/or agricultural impact in Creston & District.

Our project grants are intended to support initiatives and projects designed to benefit people with disabilities. Some examples of organizations we have supported through our project grant program include the Disabled Independent Gardener Association’s urban gardening program, the Community Recreational Initiative Society’s Adaptive Adventures program and a supported housing development for brain injury survivors in Campbell River.
